We're lucky in Pittsburg to have many diverse live music opportunities to attend; some are ticketed and some are free. Check out this list and make plans to attend as many as your schedule and budget will allow!

Bicknell Family Center for the Arts
Located in the heart of Pittsburg State University's campus, the Bicknell is a regional destination for the fine and performing arts. Designed and constructed by the world's most renowned theater architects, this $33 million facility features a 1,100-seat performance hall, a 250-seat theater, a 3,500 square-foot art gallery and state-of-the-art technology. The season of touring and locally produced shows is announced each August and posted on the Bicknell's website and Facebook page.

Pittsburg Community Theatre
Each summer, PCT produces a major musical that is accompanied by a pit orchestra at Memorial Auditorium, 503 N. Pine. The pit orchestra is comprised of PSU students and faculty, area music teachers and band directors, and local musicians with expertise in instruments ranging from piccolo to percussion. Follow PCT on Facebook or at www.pctinfo.org for show dates and details.

Colonial Fox Theatre
The historic Fox in downtown Pittsburg is undergoing a renovation transformation, but already is offering up a diverse slate of entertainers in mainstage and backstage concerts throughout the year! Check out their schedule of musicians here: http://www.colonialfox.org/events.html
